2D1N Genting Trip

Joined the Genting trip organised by Actuarial dept, we stayed at Theme Park hotel for a night. Due to the Hari Raya peak season, we reached the theme park earlier at 8:30am. Every games wasn't crowded yet until noon.
left: Daisy, me, Liza, Joelle, Pong, Evelyn & Jonathan.

- Bowling Scores -
D(Daisy), B(me), J(Joelle), E(Evelyn)

- Lunch at Tak Fok Seafood -
Liza's bf recommended us to have lunch at KL rather than spending more in Genting. So, he suggested everyone to eat at the Tak Fok Seafood restaurant in Kepong Aman Puri. Well, it's famous for its variety of crabs with reasonable price (1kg = RM18). The food came pretty fast, it normally quite crowded at night. I like its cheese crab and the bread which tasted so deliciously when it melts on the cheese sauce! We ordered the salted egg crab flavor, however it's a bit too dry but still special.

Happy Birthday to Hoon

We celebrated Hoon's Bday 2 days earlier at Menjalara's Taiwan D'licious restaurant. The portion of the food wasn't that much, we managed to finish it easily. Had the KimChi hot pot, SiChuan spice meat balls, fried prawn dumplings, steam dumplings, 1 bowl of ZhaJiang noodle, 2 bowls of plain soup noodle, 1 bowl of spicy soup noodle, red plum cold drink, dark red plum cold drink & cold green tea.
I like the fried prawn dumplings most *Yum-Yum* Everytime after I've eaten the spicy KimChi, the red plum cold drink become so nice in mouth. Hoon's ZhaJiang noodle served with the dried tofu, a bit spicy... very delicious too.

- Drama -
While finishing the Smiling Pasta, I'm currently also watching another Japanese drama which I copied last year - Ima Ai ni Yukimasu 现在就去看你 (Be with You / I'm coming to see you now). Initially, it actually has its movie. The story is about a mother who dies, but promises to return during the rainy season. However, she has no memory of anything that occurred during her life..... BTW, Monday is a holiday for me, so can continue my drama time. And then the next day will follow the actuarial team to Genting:)

Had got the OST of Smiling Pasta and I particularly like 'Memoir' 纪念 by LiuJia 六甲, 'Sunset' 黄昏晓 by Cyndi and 'Tears of North Pole Star' 北极星的眼泪 by ZhangDongLiang.

Matta Fair

3 of us went to Matta Fair after working hours. We were interested to find out cheap trips for Vietnam, Macau, ShenZhen or HongKong. Ended up, we focused on Macau+ShenZhen. Well, at this moment, there's one trip with RM1361 which includes air ticket, entrance fees, hotel, meals, airport tax, tips, visa. The time to travel is on 27/1/07 but I wonder how's the weather at that moment? What kind of money to change? Who's other possible passengers? Will the places ulu? Will the trip rush? Who will be the tour guide?

After the fair, we & ChaiLan went to a restaurant nearby my house which I have never went in b4, maybe tried out tapau when I was young. u know, the nearer the places around us, we will sometimes don't even go.

TerryFox Run

It's like a charity marathon for the cancer research. The run started at 9:30am in Lake Garden. We took part for the 3KM walk. Surprisingly, there were many foreigners. It's well-worth to join it because there were a lot of people to watch, fulfilled my eyes desires.
Some kids brought their bikes & roller blades on the track. Someone even run with his little doggy.
Later, we had lunch at TTDI's Chong Thong Kee for its famous Ipoh Ho Fun.

Birthday Celebration

ChaiLan joined us 2 months ago. She's a Virgo as well. There are actually many Virgoes in my office, remembered last year we did have a group birthday celebration in Hartz Chicken Buffet in Time Square. Yesterday, we belanja her lunch. This birthday girl even gave us a treat at Secret Recipe for 3 slices of cakes after office hour. Yum~ we ordered Mango Delight, Chocolate Banana and dunno what cheese cake =p

- Drama/Movie -
Hero which I borrowed from Janet, a japanese drama by Takuya Kimura & Matsu Takako. Kuryu (Kimura) is a young public prosecutor in Tokyo. His style of working is different with other typical prosecutor, Kuryu dresses casually and ignores standard procedures. Amamiya (Matsu Takako) is his assistant. They can't get along well at first. However, Kuryu's brilliant investigations proves to Amamiya. Eventually they fall into the romance relationship. The ending songs is familiar, by Hikaru Utada's Can you Keep a Secret.
About Love is combined with three foreign love stories from 3 places - Tokyo, Taipei & Shanghai. Each pair of lovers doesn't speak the same language. Tokyo: Taipei guy meets Tokyo girl, Taipei: Japanese guy meets Taipei girl, Shanghai: Japanese guy meets Shanghai girl. This kind of mixture is weird but interesting.

Philharmonic Orchestra

Met up colleagues in KLCC in the morning and got the free tickets of Philharmonic Orchestra, 1 hour concert. It's my first time to attend such a performance. Wow, the music was amazing, hopefully next year they will organise again.
It had 4 performance today (12pm, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm), we attended the 12pm & 2pm sessions - Classic Pops and Reel Music. For the first session, our seats were very near to the stage. We could properly see what shoes they were wearing =p. For our 2nd session at 2pm, so lucky that we had the upper circle seats:) It wasn't allowed to snap photos in the hall but I managed to snap some without flash -_< They played the theme songs of Lord of the Rings, Superman, The Lost World, etc. It was conducted by Kevin Field.

Tea Lady's daughter wedding

2nd attempts on Malay Wedding - Office tea lady's daughter's wedding. Well, Jojo is Baba Nyonya, so we got some Baba Nyonya food style too.
It's located in a mosque at Kepong Menjalara, right in front of the Taman Tasik Menjalara. The dewan wasn't as nice as Azura's wedding lo~ Azura's one was more happening with some dancing performances compare to Jojo's.
Yeah, collected another wedding guest gift.
Again, followed Zaila, Nimalan & TeongEng to this kind of ceremony. There's other colleauges from other departments as well, eg: Elsie, Kamsiah, Idris, Shikin, Azman, etc.

Malay Colleagues' Wedding

Today was Hasmady & Azura's wedding day in TTDI. They both are working in different departments in our company. According to Zaila, they started close to each other since last year's family day at Sunway Lagoon, Nov 2005. Hehe, yup... sometimes I saw them walk out of the car park together every morning.

What did we bring along to the wedding hall? Me & TeongEng had chosen 2 unique lamps for them, shared by 6 of us. We searched up & down in 1 Utama in the early morning, nearly gave up to buy any. Suddenly we came across a unique shop called 'Pumpkins'. Things selling at there are cheap and unique. So many lamps or house decoration stuff were demo at the shelve, attracting our eyes to get one. While walking around, we saw a shop which sells tortoise, snails & fishes in small beautiful aquariums. To feed the snails is easy, just gave them bread or rice will do. Clean up the aquarium is also quite easy. Nice hobby for some of the colleagues who were thinking on keeping fishes or tortoise in the office. The snails are cheap as well, big one costs RM8 while small one costs RM5.

There wedding lunch will also be held at somewhere near Batu Caves but I'm not attending tomorrow. However, Zaila, TeongEng, Nimalan & Mani will still going. Today's wedding, I saw some of our resigned staff as well.

Colleague Farewell

We had a farewell party for YeeLi from Real Estate & Lending Department at Pusat Bandar Damansara's Secret Recipe. It's organised by Daisy who is from Directors Unit. After the dinner, there's another Karaoke Session which is organised by Evelyn from Marketing Department. However, I didn't join the Karaoke session because the rate for night karaoke is quite expensive and somemore til 4am.

There were also many colleagues from Actuarial Department which included Pong, Jonathan, Joelle, Liza and her bf. They joined in quite late because of many workload. So unluckily, all fries were sold out in Secret Recipe that night, we gotta order something which didn't with fries. I ordered the Chicken Kebab with rice and frosty fruit punch (blended with banana, orange and dunno wat fruit, not bad). WaiHong even went to McDonald to tapau 2 packets of fries over =p After dinner, we added some deserts of cakes, 6 slices shared by 10 persons. What a delicious night!

YeeLi is leaving because of wanting to further her master business studies in Scotland, UK. So brave of her, go over herself and hopefully stay over and get a job if possible after earning some at here. While being at there, it's a good chance to explore europe countries as well. Good luck to YeeLi!

Last night, 5 of us catched the Rabbit Proof Fence. It's a Western Australian film, about Australia aborigines story. Don't really fully understand the story... the 3 little female aborigines were taken away from Jigalong by the white people to train them with white people cultures. The eldest is named Molly Craig, followed by Daisy Craig, etc. They use their intelligence to runaway from the white people by following the rabbit-proof fence. The whole story, most of the time is showing them walking in the wast land of western australia, including they nearly collapse in the desert but finally they've made it to meet their mum again. To avoid being catched by the white people, they've moved to the desert far away... This culture is happening in Australia until 1970.

A Walk to The Mall

This morning was cloudy, the weather was just suitable to walk to the nearest shopping mall in my area, The Mall, which is about 10-15mins distance. Once we reached there, few minutes later it started to rain. But doesn't matter, as long as it stops when we go back.

I exchanged my 2 free Starbucks coupons with 1 large size Banana Mocha Frappuccino Blended Coffee(for my cousin) and 1 large size Banana Cream Frappuccino Blended Cream(myself):

Sales again

While shopping in Mid Valley... Coincidentally we saw the Superman Returns event which attended by the 1st & 2nd Malaysian Idols - Jac & Daniel. The Superstars - John & Des were there as well. It's not crowded at all because nobody knows until the host shouted Jac & Daniel's name.

Howl's Moving Castle

Howl's Moving Castle had been released since summer of 2004 but until now only I have bought it because previously I came across another version which was in Japanese(Malay subtitle), so I didn't buy it. I prefer Cantonese version as the translation is more funny.

I find that this movie has a lot of similarities with his other old movies. A combination from other movie characters. Obviously, the Moving Castle vs Laputa. The witch magic in black color vs Princess Mononoke's black worm. The old lady of Spirited Away vs Howl's Sophie. Overall, I have less surprises from this movie, the ending is too simple and the music isn't as interesting as previous.

What I like about this movie:
- The charming Howl
- The different location door
- The moving castle at the ending
- Calcifier fire demon on Sophie's ring
- Scarecrow
- Sleeping Sophie

Bookfest

Tried out the RapidKL city bus RM2 daily ticket, unlimited rides around city area, eg: KLCC, Bukit Bintang, Pasar Seni, etc.

Lunch at food court, Chicken Kebab and Fish&Chips:

Me & my cousin took a visit to the Bookfest@Malaysia at KL Convention Centre in the afternoon. It's kinda crowded esp the section of Taiwan & China compared to Malaysia section which was obviously more quiet. Grabbed the chance to enjoy the traveling photo books. I've chosen an anime VCD - Howl's Moving Castle:
